The Social Startup Summit

The Social Startup Summit launches in 2010. In the inaugural year, 2010, there will be one or two summits. In the following years, the program plans on expanding to four summits across the U.S. and eventually to more summits internationally.

Upcoming Summits:

-August 2010: San Jose, CA, Summit Theme: Focus on Health. The Summit theme Focus on Health will emphasize that teams create social venture startups that promote healthy living. Speakers will be from local public policy committees, health companies and non-profits.

Other Events:

Between summits, there will be online webinars with tips on maintaining and growing a social venture: fundraising, developing a website, media engagement, etc.

At each summit there will also be a Youth Service Expo. Student summit delegates will be able to connect with many opportunities from local non-profit organizations for ways to get involved in their local and global community: signing up for one-time or long term volunteering opportunities, gathering fundraising ideas and tools for starting projects, and more. If your organization engages youth in volunteering, offers resources for teen changemakers, or offers youth service and leadership development programs, the Youth Service Expo is a great way to reach out to teens who are ready to take action on causes.
